The Spring Festival is a fantastic weekend-long celebration of smallholding and rural-life. Packed full of interesting things to see, delicious food and drink, live music, country sports, livestock, shopping, demonstrations and fun, have-a-go activities, the festival promises to be the perfect day out for all.

Watch a baking demo from Val and Louise from the Great British Bake Off and enjoy the delicious Welsh artisan produce available in our food hall.

Our food and drink quarter will be open late on the Saturday night. Come along and enjoy the festival atmosphere by indulging in some delicious street-food whilst listening to some excellent live music – the perfect way to spend an early summers evening with friends.

If you’re a smallholder, or thinking of becoming one, make sure you visit our Smallholder Centre where you will also find our ‘getting started’ stand and the Country Smallholding Magazine’s speakers Corner.

There will be 1,400 livestock exhibits to see! Learn how to look after a range of different animals and have-a-go at handling some of them.

Our huge horse section now has over 100 classes, including show jumping, working hunter, side saddle, CHAPS, donkey, miniature, heavy horses, Arab and veteran classes.

With over 300 tradestands selling all things from plants to wellingtons and dog beds to chickens, there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy some retail therapy.

Bring your dog along have-a-go in the dog scurry in the Country Life area. Have a shooting or archery lesson or enjoy the woodland and country pursuit activities.

Visit the Little Smallholders Area and let the children have-a-go at all the fun, educational activities. Let them discover where their food comes from and before trying their hand at some circus skills. Watch them enjoy, learn and have fun!

The only Premier Open Dog Show in Wales is held at the Spring Festival and will feature over 1,000 dogs, all hoping to qualify for Crufts.

The Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival will be bigger and better and will include a half marathon, 10k race, family fun runs and toddler trail. Race fee includes FREE entry into the Spring Festival.

Don’t worry if your invite to Harry and Meghan’s wedding hasn’t arrived, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate the Royal Wedding at the Spring Festival. With wedding themed competitions and activities and even some large TV screens so we don’t miss out on any of the action (we’ll even turn over to watch the FA cup final afterwards!).
